The story of Purple Orange Life is one of vision, courage, and transformation. In 2019, as Darshi Mody graduated from her doctoral journey in Strategic Leadership at Jefferson University, she stood at the threshold of a new adventure.
For years, Darshi had been both a creator and a guide—immersed in design and education since her teens. During her doctorate, she became a teaching assistant for Professor Steven Freeman’s Applied Research Methods course, where she discovered the true potential of research: it’s not just about data, but about making a difference. Graduating in just three years, Darshi’s dedication was clear, but her real breakthrough came when she and Steve reimagined the course itself.
Together, they built a learning experience that ignited real change—helping doctoral professionals unlock new opportunities, earn promotions, and win scholarships. This work earned Darshi a leadership award, but more importantly, it sparked a deeper calling: to make applied research a force that could touch lives everywhere. Purple Orange Life is founded on their combined expertise in research and design, and Darshi and Steve chose to leap beyond the classroom. They launched a pilot program, determined to create ripple effects that would reach far outside academic walls. From 2022 to 2024, their journey grew richer and more inspiring as they listened to real stories, explored new challenges, and witnessed firsthand impact of their work.
By 2025, their dreams outgrew borders. Emboldened, Darshi took a bold step—applying to two trademark programs,
Design Routine® and Artistic Connections®, to carry their mission across the globe. At the heart of this expansion was a core question: how can a transformative learning experience be affordable, accessible, and creative? By 2026, Purple Orange Life is more than an organization; it's a vibrant community and a true home for those who believe knowledge can catalyze change. Here, the mission thrives, and the journey continues—inviting others to join, dream bigger, and make a lasting impact.
